Pastor JR Gossett pastor of Community Baptist Church located in Greensboro, NC.

On August 15th, 2021, Pastor JR became a part time Pastor of Visitation at Community Baptist Church. JR had previously served some 33 years, on a full time basis, as Senior Pastor. His passion is ministering to people through personal evangelism and spending time with them. He finds that he usually receives the blessing when he is attempting to bless someone else.

Pastor JR received his education through Liberty Home Bible Institute and also has a Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Marietta Bible College in Marietta, Ohio.

‍

JR and his wife, Carol, have been married for over 41 years. They have two children, Matthew and Mandy, son-in-law Sam, and two amazing grandsons, Jordan and Aaron.

‍

In addition to his duties at Community Baptist Church, Pastor JR also serves as the Interim Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. He is Vice-President of Jewish Worldwide Missions Ministries, and the moderator for the North Carolina Baptist Pastors Fellowship.

When time allows, JR enjoys spending time with family, playing golf and singing bass in gospel quartets.
